Tech Support Yoga: A 2-Part Series Workshop Dedicated to the Modern World Yogi

  • Soluna Yoga + Spa 2105 Park Street Jacksonville, FL, 32204 United States (map)

Do you find yourself at a desk or working from a computer for extended periods of time? Or perhaps you are feeling what has turned out to be quite common these days, called “Tech Neck”? Tech neck can lead to tech shoulders, wrists and upper back and may result additionally in poor posture. When you’ve been slouching at your desk for eight hours or more, your body suffers: tight hips and shoulders, a tense neck, aching back and deflated chest. Sitting for hours can also be detrimental to your health. Studies show looking down at a smartphone or screen can add as much as 60 extra pounds of pressure on your spine.

Greet the new demands of this modern world and counteract long periods of sitting with therapeutic teachings from Yoga in this Tech Neck Support workshop series. Incorporating Yoga into your workday can yield numerous benefits, provide you with more energy, a sense of calm, and relieve pain+discomfort in the body.

Leaving the home/office to attend Yoga classes may not be feasible. In this workshop you will learn to reduce discomfort, relieve stress, increase energy and clear your mind — all in a day’s work.

Part 1: Desk Yoga: Sept 24th, 6-7:30pm

Learn and experience Yoga postures to integrate throughout your day using your chair and desk. Short meditation and Yogic breathing tips will also be explored.

Part 2: Therapeutic Yoga: Oct 1, 6-7:30pm

Learn and experience Yoga postures and movements which benefit wrists, shoulders, neck, hips and spine. We will also review short meditation and Yogic breathing tips to integrate into your workday.

It is highly encouraged you sign up for both parts of the workshop, however, attendance to one part of either sessions will still serve you greatly.

Registration in advance is required. This will be offered in-studio and virtually live online simultaneously. In-studio attendance is limited to 8 spaces, with 6 ft spacing between mats.
